Audiobook Engineer, Literature Enthusiast, & Your Personal Wingwoman.

Hi, I’m Julie! I work with narrators, voice actors, authors, and production companies to edit and produce beautiful audiobooks.

To misquote a certain protagonist in a popular film, I have a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career, skills that make me a wonderful resource for people like you.

A woman with long curly dark hair wearing glasses, a green sleeveless top, and black wide-leg pants, sitting on a black chair near a window with sunlight coming in, smiling and looking to her right.

When you work with me as your audiobook editor and producer, you’re not just getting an audio engineer, but someone with a bona fide degree in English (great for catching typos, grammar issues, and general inconsistencies in manuscripts), as well as a former high school teacher (a background that is particularly useful when working with first-time authors, angsty teenagers, and early-career narrators as they learn the ropes and figure out how to navigate the audiobook world). And if you’re looking for some basic direction during your recording sessions, I’ve got you covered.

Chances are you won’t find an audiobook engineer with the additional literature and education credentials in most other studios! I’ve literally been training my whole life for this.

I truly enjoy working with early-stage voice actors and authors producing their debut audiobooks. You should never feel uncomfortable asking your engineer questions about your project, and I pride myself on creating a space where my clients feel comfortable asking questions and getting constructive feedback. In short, I’m here for you.

Why Whole Story Studio?

  • My background in English literature means we approach every project with an appreciation for narrative nuance and emotional pacing. This isn’t just about editing sound, it’s about creating an emotional connection between your story and your listeners.

  • Whole Story Studio is not just another sound factory. In fact, it’s just the opposite. When booking a project, you’ll work directly with me or one of my incredible sound engineers. There are no middlemen at WSS, you’ll communicate directly with us during your project.

  • This is an audiobook-only zone (okay, and yes, we have a lovely set-up for podcasts as well). I’ve built us a comfy and cozy space right in downtown West Palm Beach, Florida, to record and produce retail-ready audiobooks. Audiobooks are my specialty. If you’re looking for a place to record music or need a more advanced podcasting space, I more am happy to recommend other local studios.

  • When you work with Whole Story Studio, you also have access to nearly everything else you’ll need to record and market your audiobook. As a part of the 1909 small business collective, Whole Story Studio has direct access and wonderful relationships with marketers, social media experts, photographers, designers, and foreign-language consultants to support every aspect of your audiobook project.

  • If you need a vacation but also need to record pickups, look no further. Check out the WSS Studio page to learn more about the studio and your next vacation to West Palm Beach.
